A Specific Role to Play- Day 126 (May 6th, 2021)

People preaching hell fire to gays and transgender people is not new. How it's handled is old and outdated, causing negative responses and wild arguments every single time. If the intention is to reach people with the gospel, rarely does this approach help in anyway. 

Instead, do you want to know who would be an effective preacher in these groups of people? Someone who has lived it and sits among them with kindness and compassion, someone who can say, "I know this walk. It's long and lonely and confusing. Regardless of divine intention, I came out different, changed by the atmosphere of a fallen world, and have never fit... But do you want to know a fundamental truth? Jesus wants me even as I am. I've prayed many times to take this away from me, to right my wrongs, if it be in His plan. But I am still this person. Flawed and broken and in desperate need of Him daily. I am not going to point fingers at you in judgment but instead want to ask you a simple question. Are you willing to invite Him in? Are you willing to be changed if that's the plan He has for you?"

God is the potter and only He will decide which pots will hold what and how they will be used. I believe some people have been chosen for this very trajectory, this very purpose, and those who are chosen and His children and are also gay or trans, etc... have a specific role to play. It's a role few Christians look to see or understand.

Though as humans we believe tried and true remains relevant forever, the fact is this: The Gospel of Jesus Christ never changes and no details of it will ever change. But what does change is how to effectively reach people. What worked 50 to 100 years ago doesn't work like it used to. New problems are at the forefront and taking the kind of approach where you preach at people instead of preaching to them... that is not Christlike and it has the opposite effect.

As a transwoman who has lived all of my thirty years as a girl trapped in a boy's frame, I can tell you these issues are much more complicated than they are sold as.
